My Culture..

Our students had fun learning about their own cultures in Alabama History!  They made "cultural collages" sharing about their family and origins.  This was a fun way to get to know ourselves, each other, and about the melting pot we live in.  We used this to talk about early European settlers bringing their culture with them as they met the Native Americans and their culture.

The Wizard of the Oz

During our trip to Children’s Theatre this week, we witnessed a fun and colorful take on the classic novel by L. Frank Baum.  The musical production took us into the magical Land of Oz where Dorothy and her beloved friends worked together to defeat the wicked witch, find the wizard and get Dorothy safely home. Throughout their journey they met a magical cast of characters, learned the power of friendship and the real meaning of home.
